FIRE is an international and interdisciplinary network for Female International Researchers and their supporters. Please see some of our recent research projects.
We welcome new members who are either active in research (in academia or in the private sector, NGOs etc.) or who can support our research, e.g. funding agency, international offices, research support offices.
We are looking for senior researchers, who have responsibility for a research team or are in a more senior role at their university )e.g. Center Directors, VCs, Dean‘s or principal investigators.
FIRE membership application has to be supported by a current FIRE member, your sponsor.
See our current FIRE members and apply for membership.
The core element of our network are our FIRE Monthlies, 1,5 hours every 1st Friday morning of the month. There we propose new members to the network, discuss new or running networking projects, share the status of current FIRE Research projects and a Science Talk gives insight to one member as research.
We are supporting young female academics and aim to involve young research talent through mentorship, training and support in setting up projects that will help moving into more senior positions.
We have a focus on membership from East Africa and Southern Africa, from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. However, we are planning to widen our scope gradually and already do so with FIRE members moving on to new appointments.
If you are looking for research capacity and would like to become a research partner, please contact us at info@firenetwork.org
